What is worth writing about

A number that does not match your shop. This is the most valuable message you can send. A wrong figure is the only real failure a profit report can have, so a report that disagrees with your own arithmetic is treated as a bug until proven otherwise. Include the period, the figure you expected, and the figure on the screen.

Something on this site being wrong. The answers here describe WooCommerce behaviour read from its source code. If your shop behaves differently — a different version, a plugin in the way, a setup we did not think of — the page gets corrected and dated.

What the report should show and does not. This is the one question this site asks. Nothing is for sale, so the answers do not feed a sales pitch; they decide what gets built next, and a sentence about your own shop is worth more than a feature poll.

A shop that breaks it. Fifty thousand orders, a hundred thousand products, an unusual currency setup, a status workflow from a shipping plugin. Those are the shops that find the real problems.

What helps in the message

  • WooCommerce and WordPress versions, and whether HPOS is on;
  • the date range you were looking at;
  • whether the Cost of Goods Sold feature has been on the whole time;
  • a screenshot, if the problem is visible on screen.

None of that is required. A one-line message is better than a message you do not send.

Why there is no form on this page

A contact form means a third-party service that receives what you typed, a consent banner, or both. This site sets no cookies at all, and its only third-party request is a cookieless analytics beacon that counts page views — which is what lets its privacy page stay short and true.

An email address works without any of that, and it works from your own mail client, with your own copy of what you sent. If the volume ever makes a form necessary, the privacy page changes on the same day.

What happens to your message

It is read, answered, and kept in a mailbox. Nothing is added to a mailing list, and there is no mailing list to be added to. If you asked to be told when the plugin is published, that note is kept for exactly that one message and nothing else.
